The Dub Cut Reggae show
"the latest exciting addition to music television".

Picture
The Dub Cut reggae Show is hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Gold-finger, who like fellow BBC radio 1 DJ Westwood (rap) & Trevor nelson (R&B), will NOW BE THE FACE OF REGGAE ON TV.

The show is a half hour mixture of exclusive interviews, reports, audience interaction and of course, live performances from some of the hottest reggae stars on the planet. Our cameras will catch reggae, its dance, fashions, and general latest trends.

Reggae has always blended with other music genres, from in the days when Bob Marley collaborated with the likes of the Rollin Stones to current collaborations between Sean Paul & Beyonce, Beanie man & Janet Jackson, Elephant man & R Kelly (and the list goes on).

With stars as varied as Rita Marley, Bounty killer, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder all selling millions of records world wide, big business is getting involved, watch out for our soon to be announced association with new media partner-----. The show is filmed on location in London & transmission is scheduled for SKY Europe and syndicated through other networks around the world.

Recognizing the music upward trend, and the fact that reggae is already one of the top selling music genres around the world, the dub cut show is eagerly awaited and will make a massive impact in the world of music TV.

Our production team is made up of young trainee film students (supervised by industry professionals). they are committed and will present reggae music, the artiste and its audiences in the best reggae music show ever.

Dub Cut TV Show Project

The Dub Cut music TV show will pursue its future in the social enterprise sector, making, marketing and promoting the programme as a vehicle for young people to become involve in its creation and gain understanding and employment within the film and entertainment industry.

Dub Cut will also combine support from both social enterprise and private industry, creating a viable balance suited for both sectors.

This project is a career opportunity and will cover:

  • Artiste management liaison
  • Camera operation
  • Editing
  • Film-making
  • Production
  • Journalism
  • TV Presenting
  • Design innovation
  • Improvement of Performance Skills
  • Marketing & sales training
  • Graphic lay-out & design

Aims and objectives of the Course
Our aim and objective is to facilitate and provide employment and training for young people through the production of the TV programme, also working with various other groups to help provide a network of support and resources.

London has a fast growing population with vibrant, multi cultural communities and its dynamic corporate regeneration can provide lucrative and fulfilling job opportunities. We intend to give our group the tools to build careers within this environment.

We will be preparing young people to be able to secure real jobs whilst enhancing skill, confidence and career opportunities.

The reason that training often does not generate the results it should is because participants fail to make the link between what they are learning and the real, every day issues that they need to face at work. The comment often heard is "it’s great in theory, but....." Quite simply, strategy and learning have been disconnected.

Our programme will support learners who will go onto employment, further or higher education equipping them to handle speeds necessary to operate in the real world.

Learning should never be forced on an individual.

Learners and the Dub Cut Project

We have found that one of the key factors dictating whether something is learned or not is the level of motivation of the learner. A highly motivated individual will learn, and apply new learning, easily and effectively. Unmotivated individuals will not learn, irrespective of the quality of training and the materials provided, a key to generating effective learning is motivating the learners.

Motivation for the youth community of learners depends in large part on relevance. If something is considered relevant to a person’s job or quality of life, motivation to learn will be generated much more easily.

In our approach to youth training and employment, we believe that learning must be connected in a clear and unequivocal way to real work and/or life issues being faced by people in an organisation/company.
As part of this training process, we will build short learning modules into the projects production and exercises that relate to the development of new skills.

The group involved in the process will learn because the learning is seen as being directly relevant to work.

Watch out the Dub Cut show, its here, its fresh, its REGGAE.

Mind Blowing Decisions

Picture
When you think of UK Hip Hop what do you see?

a. Hopeless angry kids on an estate?
or
b. poets, Artiste, visionary future leading stars of stage and screen?
This phenomenal ground breaking production looks at the relationship between Hip Hop and youth culture.

It tells the story of Jared, a young streetwise nineteen year- old whose intentions are to make it big as a Mc/ rapper.
Unfortunately his world is fraught with simmering rage, peer presure and difficult decisions, plus to add, his status is elevated dramatically when , a rapper adversary is accidentally killed and the blame falls at Jared's feet.

This new status does not sit well especially when he finds himself falling in love with Sophia, a young and positive straight A university student.

See what happens to this bright young hopeful, What Mind Blowing Decisionshe has to make.

The play is described as a hip hop musical and features a cast of some very talented aspiring young actors.

The lead character is played by actor/rapper Ashley "Bashy"Thompson, who together with the release of his song (Black Boys) and latest song Adulthood ( title track of the new smash hit film sequel tokidulthood) is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with in entertainment.

British long jumper Jade Johnson also plays a cameo role.

The show is written & produced by Danny Gayle of NLF who is a veteran of talent competitions and small sketch shows.

In the early nineties Danny produced a talent show that ran at the famed jongleurs comedy club in Battersea and introduced a plethora of talent such as:Junior Simpson, Marcus Powell, Richard Blackwood, Gina Yashere, Marsha Ambroisus (floetry) and many more to the mainstream.

The production is Directed by Victor Romero Evans, who himself is an actor of stage & screen with many TV and theatre credits including work with Steven Segal and the record breaking West End production Big Life to his name. Victor will also be a member of the cast.

The subject matter itself deals with the aspirations and dreams of young people, some who lack the support and motivation to move forward and achieve their ambitions, others who soar and rise through adversity.

supported by: The Arts Council, CCRJ, CUF, LNF

New leader is part of education consultancy, Aspire that was setup by the churches to help universities and other educational institutes give greater access and support to potential students from minority backgrounds. The organisation has been invaluable in providing not only insight but practical support as one of the negotiators.
