Dear Danny,

Re:  Employability Workshops

I would like to thank New Leader Foundation for the delivery of Employability Workshops to young people who are participating in the Motivational Programme.   These sessions have been very successful and have contributed to raising young peoples’ self esteem, confidence and aspirations to move into Education, Employment or Work Based Training at the end of the programme.

The feed back from young people and Personal Advisers have been very positive and that they enjoyed the Employability Workshops very much.

Due to the success of the Employability Workshops, I would like to arrange for further sessions, from September 08 – December 09.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your flexibility and professional approach to meeting the needs of young people on the Motivational Programme.

Thanking you again,

Ericka Alleyne

Re: New Leader Foundation

I have great pleasure in writing this testimonial on behalf of the above organisation.

New Leader has been a key player in the development of our regional networks and has contributed to this organisation in a robust and committed manner.

We are privileged to partner with new leader in a number of areas. Firstly with the production, Mind Blowing Decisions, that opened in London last year and was partly funded by the churches racial justice team. This proved a very important tool in the process of engaging and helping to inform and be educated by the needs and experience of young people.

New leader is also part of our education consultancy, Aspire that was setup by the churches to help universities and other educational institutes give greater access and support to potential students from minority backgrounds. The organisation has been invaluable in providing not only insight but practical support as one of the negotiators.

Aspire successfully launched its programme last year with a visit from Revd Jessie Jackson and the New Leader provided the PR and marketing for the entire event.

I must also say that MR Danny Gayle has been a tremendous asset to the work of CTBI and has shown total dedication, courage and great leadership and commitment to the work he has undertaken on our behalf. He is an inspirational servant who is able to offer a wide range of skills with joy and enthusiasm.  I have often gone to MR Gayle’s offices and seen groups of young people rehearsing or working on community projects. Their small space is a hub of activity and excitement and one is always up-lifted just by being there.

I cannot recommend the work of this organisation highly enough and would be delighted to talk to you further should you need more information.

New leader continues to be a strong network member and excellent champion of racial harmony and healing.

Your Sincerely

Revd  CLAUDETTE DOUGLAS

New Leader Foundation is a resident provider at Bredinghurst Secondary School, with the aim of helping pupils built confidence, through drama and other forms of self expression which in turn assist pupils  when setting goals for achievement. NLF implements positive and motivational steps through workshops and schemes.

NLF has proved beyond doubt how successful their teaching methods are with all the age groups. Bredinghurst School is a referral centre for 11 to 16 year olds and accommodates children with diverse needs. Most pupils attending the school come from difficult backgrounds, some have behavioral problems, and many needing more care and attention than students in mainstream education. The NLF has provided help to the school through its programs of engagement and interaction within the workshops they provide.

The quality of the teaching and engagement schemes, enable the pupils to engage in educational and creative tasks. The drama workshops are an asset as they help the students build up self esteem, confidence, and personality skills which they can later use independently.

Personal development and media workshops are delivered to plant and grow positive thinking along with a pro-active attitude for each participant.  Moreover the students have the prospect of being involved in many projects and programs that they themselves have devised.

Team building and interaction with peers is another attribute gained from workshops and NLF supports the students with interview preparations, role play and presentation skills preparing them for future work environments.

Personally, I would recommend the NLF services to every school, youth organisation or educational facility, as it evidently increases success and creates opportunities for all aspiring young individuals. The workshops are designed specifically for the youths and are a great addition to their formal education.
