The Youthweb
youth employment program
We have taken a serious look at the present situation facing young people, particularly young males, in terms of youth employment in today's society. The issues in question revolve around the lack of investment in our children, a lack of guidance, of real direction and prolonged commitment to developing practical solutions to surmount the obstacles in the paths of young adults.
Young people as a result of being socially excluded, often end up confused, lacking in direction, struggling with uncertainty, low self-esteem and feeling that they have little to look forward to, which has proven to be a large contributory factor in most cases of anti-social behaviour and other criminal activity.
We believe it is our duty to address these problems, by providing support and instilling self-belief, the basis of a balanced and productive individual.
The Youthweb youth employment program provides employment and support not offered by conventional systems, by establishing a platform from which young people can interact amongst themselves and communicate their worth to society.
Youthweb creates employment opportunities and support by arranging work placements, also by providing an adaptable framework in the form of a website. Young people can access the information (present & view CV's) needed to pursue the goals they set for themselves, as they navigate our (their) site.
The main operative of this program is to have a main hub website which will in turn be the penultimate website for the whole concept. We will from here onwards place similar modules into organisations such as Youth clubs, Resettlement Projects, Probation Services Work based for learning projects etc.
The website includes certain elements from existing social networking site such as facebook and youtube, as it is necessary to engage young people thru familiar concepts. Confidence will grow as young people experience the positive impact of presenting their work skills, music, poems, views and interests throughout the site.
Our template for a digital newsletter also enhances literacy, information gathering and assimilation, multi tasking and team building.
Youthweb links our members directly to Employers, Mentors, Resettlement Projects and work placements, giving them the opportunity to gain the confidence to grasp their chosen career. We have also formed links with secondary schools offering after school programmes.
Graphic and website Design innovation provides another aspect to our training and work programme allowing our members to develop an understanding of the IT & media world. This aim is achieved through the website, currently in development under the guidance of our expert managers and to be maintained by the young people of the program, with ongoing Newsletters, Comic Strips, Competitions, and Personal Profiles promoting their talents referring to the Arts.
Thank you for showing interest and supporting this initative, together our aims to support young people will be achieved.
